![]() There is a huge sign on the wall that says Diverse. Perhaps the device was sullied by his slippery, booze-laden mouth. At one point D's mouth touched the device and I can't help but wonder what might have happened had that not taken place. It equates to an old Hungarian term, sack o poo for a sack o brass, and it's true. Just three surly looking men shaking their heads while staring at what appeared to be a barcode battler and shaking their heads. All in all there was little explanation of anything. Not one of them was tested, but no one has explained this. I saw many, many children racing who did not get breath tested, I watched on, expecting to see heartbroken children but no. Thankfully this country is quite cold & so the balaclavas will be useful at some stage. We got our money back for the most part but still had to take the balaclava we each bought. If you think about the risks involved on a boat, I am sure you'll agree that simply driving at speed WITH HELMETS is actually far safer, even with residual alcohol in our breath. K's dad is a retired police officer for the record and once told me that you can drive a boat while drinking, just not drunk. Myself and K could probably have done equally well if not better, given that we were both actually quite a bit over the limit, most likely due to the aforementioned digestive & respiratory processes. My issue here is that D was over the limit!!! Rest assured.ĭ went on to win the qualification race and more than likely the entire race, given his robotic tendency to perfectly adapt himself to unfamiliar situations. Furthermore one of the people who was accepted to race codenamed for the purposes of this review, "D", WAS allowed to race DESPITE having an alcoholic percentage of 0.5!!!!ĭ was so intoxicated the previous night it will keep people talking in this town for some days to come. An unreasonable limit set at 0.0 which doesn't account for residual alcohol produced by the body during respiratory & digestive processes. Seals are routinely spotted bobbing about in the inlet and when the tide is low you can easily walk in the sea to a nearby island. My friend and I were told we couldn't race simply because we were a tiny bit over the alcohol limit. North of the island and down a single track road from Dunvegan this beach is one of a few real coral beaches on the west coast. Well worth a visit and on your way back to the car stop in at my parents’ Gallery and where my jewellery career all started at Aird Old Church Gallery. Again parking is limited but with our long summer days, its a lovely place to spend an evening!Ĭoral Beach - This is a popular beach which is publicised widely but a beautiful one all the same. I have been to this beach countless times, been proposed to on this beach and spent many happy memories with my dogs on this beach. When the tide is out the waters are so clear and perfect for swimming in the enclosed bay. ![]() Hidden in the depths of the south of Skye this walk and beach is a hidden paradise. You can actually get a boat into Loch Coruisk and walk out however if you are looking for a day beside the beach, swimming in the clear waters and generally enjoying the magnificent views just go for the beach.Ĭamas Daraich - This beach is my personal favourite as it’s a 2 mile walk from where I grew up in Aird. ![]() Up and over a hill and down the other side will take you to another glorious sandy beach. Before you head over the brae there is a 9km round walk to Camasunary to add in. So so beautiful!Ĭamasunary - Another peninsula to visit is to Elgol - a winding single track road weaves you round the red Cuillin and onto the wee township of Elgol which has one of the best views of the black Cuillin. Talisker beach is a short walk from where you park, which is limited so head early, and when the tide is out reveals white and black sand. Anyone heading this way always goes to the Fairy pools, which yes are lovely, but are overcrowded and I personally think there are better places on Skye to visit. Talisker Beach - If you are heading to Talisker distillery or the famous Oyster shed in Carbost you HAVE to make a stop at the beautiful Talisker beach.
